FIGHT RACISM !
“ All of us need to call out and openly condemn all messages – especially political messages or discourses – which disseminate ideas based on racial superiority or hatred, or which incite racism, racial discrimination, xenophobia and related intolerance ”Michelle Bachelet,
United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights
What is Racism ?
Let’s start by examining the most basic definition of racism—the dictionary meaning. According to the American Heritage College Dictionary,
racism has two meanings. This resource first defines racism as, “The
belief that race accounts for differences in human character or ability
and that a particular race is superior to others” and secondly as, "Discrimination or prejudice based on race."

In 2009, there is campaign #FightRacism which is to mark the
International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination, which
commemorates the brutal killings of 69 anti-apartheid protestors. In
December 2019, the UN Human Rights Office extended the campaign to run
on a year-long basis, as part of its commitment to end intolerance,
xenophobia & discrimination of every kind.
What is effect from Racism ?
Basically, individuals who experience racism in their everyday life find that they
become very limited. Fear can become an everyday occurrence with low
self-esteem being a common side-effect. When someone faces harassment
and persecution regularly throughout their life, they naturally come to
view themselves as less worthy than they truly are and this can only
perpetuate the cycle of oppression.

Recently, I had read a post an 18 y/o black women was set on fire by four white men who approached her car at a spotlight screaming racial slurs at her before throwing lighter fluid and a match in her face. Guess what happens ? she suffers from THIRD DEGREE BURNS to her body ππ Racism is not a joke because it can bring side effect to someone. So PLEASE, STOP RACISM!
